1970 Fender Twin Reverb

This particular amp sat in a closet for the last 30 years with an unknown history before that, and needed a pretty standard restoration. A complete cap job, new power section dropping resistors, a 3 prong AC cord and updated ground scheme, deletion of death cap, and all new preamp tubes. A mix of Genalex, Sovtek and JJ tubes were used with the Fixed Bias being set to a period correct %60 Class AB Plate Dissipation. The preamp coupling cap going into the reverb driver was taken back to factory spec, and the tremolo oscillator was modded to stop it ticking - a common problem on these Silver-Panel twin reverb’s. This amp was restored with selling in mind so the Sovtek 5881/6L6 tubes were kept in place as they tested with a good deal of life left in them. It sounds like a super clean pedal platform ready to be back on stage.
