1985 Ibanez AD-202 Analog Delay

This is a vintage rack-mount multi-mode analog delay/chorus/flanger/doubler designed for instrument and line level inputs. I modified this for a studio owner who wanted the input/output jacks that are mounted on the front-panel to be duplicated onto the back-panel, so it would interface cleanly with the cabling setup in his rig. It took quite a lot of drilling since there is an inner chassis and an outer shell that are both metal - I also had to create a custom switching circuit so that the front jacks would remain operational.

Now it is setup so when you insert a cable into the back-panel jacks, they automatically disconnect the front jacks, all while retaining the original circuit’s input shunt grounding scheme to prevent unwanted noise from getting into an unused input channel. A bit of a mouth-full but absolutely necessary for the studio environment. Other than that - the pots were cleaned and lubricated - UK made isolated Cliff jacks and RG-174 shielded cable was used throughout. This thing sounds great (especially the doubler) and will be used primarily on drums by the customer/sonic explorer.
