1994 YAMAHA T-100

This dual channel 100 watt amplifier designed by Soldano and manufactured by Yamaha in the 1990’s is a bit of a secret weapon among tube amps and has a loyal cult following. This particular one came in with blown 6L6GC power tubes and a blown fuse. The previous “Tech” biased this Class AB amp at a dangerously high %110 Plate Dissipation. I installed the new axial lead fuse, a quad of JJ 6L6GC’s, and set the Fixed Bias at a correct, but still slightly hot dissipation of %73 Class AB with a B+ of 502VDC. This amp is after all mostly about distortion so biasing this way gives it the right tone, especially for the owner who plays experimental metal. A truly fantastic amp you have probably never heard of.
