2023 Mojotone Tweed Princeton

This is a Mojotone clone of 5F2-A Tweed era Princeton. The Tweed Princeton is basically the exact same circuit as the Tweed Champ but with a simple tone control added. This one came to me in bad shape, although it had most of the same problems that all of the kit amps I receive posses. Multiple faults were noted including: shorted wiring, poor wiring placement, cold solder joints, and misplaced parts.

Amp was completely dis-assembled/rebuilt from the ground up and re-wired from scratch. All of the wiring was replaced with much higher quality Weico 600v/1000v Teflon Mil-Spec pre-tinned 22ga/18ga as the original non-insulated cloth wire was shorted/damaged and also is a fire hazard in this tech's opinion. The cloth wiring didn't allow the tight twisted pairs necessary to reduce noise and have an orderly layout. The wiring layout used replicated the original Fender 5F2-A wiring scheme exactly. The AC cord and all Transformer wiring was re-done for the same reasons as above. The Artificial Heater Center Tap was rebuilt with new 100 ohm 1/2 Watt Carbon Comp Resistors. The 100k Plate resistors were replaced with the same 1/2 Watt Carbon Comp units as these were not installed right originally and not in the right places.

The 9-Pin Tube Socket was replaced as it had damaged and clipped pins. The original rectifier tube was damaged and prematurely worn so it was replaced with a new 5Y3GT. Tube Lineup: V1 = TAD ECC83-cz, V2 = Genelex Gold Lion 6V6GT/CV-511, V3 = JJ 5Y3GT. The Cathode Bias on the 6V6GT was set to Factory Spec. The amp was re-assembled and tested. Amp now functions normally.
